DLP News for June 13th

June 13, 2004

dlpHewlett Packard is working on a new technology that purports to offer twice the resolution of digital projection displays, without increasing the cost of the projector. That’s a big claim and if it turns out to be effective, could really turn the digital projection world on its ear.

Here’s the funny part, they call it “wobulation”. Let me check my calendar, nope April 1st is long past. I guess we’ll know sometime in 2005 if this is all its cracked up to be, although if the illustrations in this cnet article are indicative of what to expect then were in for some great digital images.

If you’re patiently awaiting the delivery of your Infocus ScreenPlay 4805 (like I am) here’s a little information on the DLP chipset used in it. (link removed)

Indeed, the news appears to be true, I’ve posted a bunch of coverage on HP’s wobulation, after searching for “wobulation” on google.
