DirectTV to add up to 1500 HiDef Channels by 2007

Yeah I was blown away when I read that, DirecTV would add up to 1500 HDTV channels by the end of 2007. I actually re-read it several times, still blown away. Although none of this new HDTV programming from DirecTV is likely to start until next year, still it’s quite an ambitious undertaking. Obviously if you divide the local’s mentioned in the article by the number of states, the total number of premium channels starts dwindling down. But that’s still a lot of HDTV channels nevertheless
