Check your mail, TiVo’s tempting you

November 26, 2004

Low and behold what was in my mailbox this afternoon but a $100.00 rebate from TiVo on a series-2 PVR, now all I have to do is buy one. Those guys are devious with their temptation. I suppose with some of the already low prices out there, this could really make TiVo affordable, but still no stand-alone HD unit. Drat.

Of course the offer is time limited, you must purchase the TiVo between November 16, 2004 and January 1, 2005 and you must activate and keep the service active for 30 days. In case your box wasn’t blessed with such an offer, they’re available from TiVo here.

  • I am all abouut the HD man… It’s going to be pretty hard to beat the rental units being issued by cable companies even if TiVo comes out with a stand-alone HD recorder for cable. Cost alone is going to rule this one — especially with the limitations via Broadcast Flag associated with HD (along with digital SD).
