InFocus ScreenPlay 4805 firmware, released
December 11, 2004
Version 1.13 firmware for the popular InFocus ScreenPlay 4805 was recently released, noted changes and revisions were as follows:
• Sync Threshold control changed to a slider
• 1080i -> 720p switching improved
• 1080i -> 480p switching improved
• Letterbox support on DVI
• Keypad disable option implemented
• Lamp life warning set to 2,980 hours
• EDID modes made for digital
• Keystone adjustment image anomaly resolved. Image no
longer changes to horizontal stripe when adjusting keystone setting.
• “Setting up image” message no longer partially hidden
• Horizontal lines no longer appear at the bottom of a
computer image while projector locks to signal
• Vertical line in video image no longer appears when Brightness is adjusted in 4:3 or native aspect ratio.
• Text in User Settings Saved no longer remains on screen if menu is removed then brought up again
I upgraded my unit and encountered no difficulties whatsoever, menu placement seemed to be corrected above and beyond the noted “Setting up image” message no longer partially hidden comment, I noticed better OSD placement all around. Note: you’ll need your serial number handy in order to download.

I upgraded to v1.13 yesterday and not feeling happy with the picture quality. The picture quality seems little darker than v1.02 and aspect ratio switching with remote seems sluggish than v1.02. I should have waited little longer. I don’t know if I can downgrade my firmware to original.
That’s Odd I was seeing just the opposite, I actually thought I might be seeing things , but it seemed that the picture quality looked better.
I definitely felt the menu was faster, but if your unsatisfied I would send InFocus tech support an email.
I and several others who I’ve spoken to have noticed since upgrading the firmware a lamp flicker which occurs about every 30 seconds. It is most noticeable on darker scenes but I have brought it to Infocus’s attention and they have told me that they are working on a new download to overcome this issue so obviously mine is not an isolated case. I have since put back the original firmware version and the flicker has now gone.
I have the same problems with v1.13 for my Infocus 4805.Ive been trying to get v1.02 back.Does anyone have a link to get v1.02 ?
thanks
jim
Firmware up to version 1.3.2 now. link in post still works. Released on March 3rd. Might fix the flicker problem.
My screen has recently developed a brown strip on the right side of the screen, which appears to be growing by the hour. Overscan seems to lessen the “brown strip”, but something is wrong and I need some help! Please give me some advice if you have seen this before and what to do about it. Thanks! ScreenPlay 4805
