Lately I have noticed that when I do go out and see a movie the sound, even in the THX certified theaters, is not impressive. This may be an artifact of just particular theaters, but I long for the days of Jurassic Park which I remember completely blowing me away with sound. I finally saw Star Wars today and the sound was tame. Only two scenes came to mind where I actually felt bass and even that was weak. If this is a trend among movie theaters then it is no surprise to me that people would prefer to enjoy movies at home with better sound.
So my two questions are:
Is this something other people have noticed and is there a reason for the diminished audio (it just may be that I need a new movie theater)?
What is the point of having THX certified theaters that boast impressive audio systems and then not use them?

Well written and I fully agree!<br
