HQV Benchmark DVD

September 15, 2005

HQV DVD Teranex the developers of the HQV processing technology used in high end DVD players and video processors, have introduced their HQV Benchmark DVD. The disc is described as a benchmarking tool to aid in evaluating displays, DVD players and video scalers.

The disc doesn’t appear to be a direct competitor to Digital Video Essentials or the AVIA guide to home theater, as its geared more to evaluation rather than calibration. This could be a handy tool, if any of you try it out lets us know what you think.

I’ve got it. It’s a nice eval tool and you can do some objective scoring.

I used it to compare how well my total system handled component thru rcvr to projector as opposed to HDMI converted to DVI thru rcvr to projector as DIV
