March 27, 2006

AkimboThe IPTV based video-on-demand provider Akimbo has struck a deal with HDNet to deliver some of the networks high definition programming. The HDNet content will be Akimbos first HDTV programming, which will surely be great news to existing subscribers with HD capable displays.

For those unfamiliar with Akimbo, the service downloads video to the company’s proprietary set-top box for playback on demand. In addition to the Akimbo set-top box hardware, the service is also compatible with existing Windows Media Center systems for $9.99 a month.
