Sharp Announces XV-Z21000 1080p Front Projector

August 7, 2006

Sharp XV-Z21000 As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, the later half of 2006 and into 2007 will be an exciting time for front projection enthusiasts. We can add yet another projector manufacturer to the ever growing list of 1080p capable displays. Sharp has announced their XV-Z21000 with full 1920×1080 resolution, 10bit image processing, 2 HDMI inputs, 7 Segment 5x speed color wheel and 1000 ANSI lumens.

The Sharp XV-Z21000 is scheduled for an October 1st launch in Japan (U.S. launch expected shortly thereafter) and will retail for roughly 12k USD. (note: that price is a rough Yen to Dollar exchange, the actual price could be more)

The Watch Impress (Japanese) article also mentions an auto-iris which would seem to indicate this is Sharp’s high-end entry into 1080p front projection and gives me even more reason to believe that the U.S. price may indeed eclipse the 12k mark. I’ll update the price as soon as I have confirmation either way.

Hi, We have a Sharp VX10000 home theater projector and need to get a ceiling bracket to mount the unit. Where can we get this?
