Interesting Brad and Jay, I was thinking MSRP=5995, MAP=5495

Your numbers come from official Sony dealer pricing? Bit of a conflict between them, rounded off perhaps?

I'd love to have one of the new 1080P DLP projectors (I'm a big fan of DLP), but with this much of a price advantage for an SXRD Sony, there is just no way I'd pick DLP. I can't imagine any 1080P DLP having a performance advantage worth $6000+.

The VPL-VW100 was absolutely amazing for home cinemas. SXRD chips create extremely good-looking images. It's a shame there aren't more details and pictures being released on this projector, but I suspect that it's going to make a huge splash into the home theater market.
