I enjoy the picture from blu-ray but not this hassle. I think samsung should send all p-1000 owners a copy of the updates as they come out. We all paid good money for this player and should not have a disc player that was only good for a year or less. I guess that money does come before all else, we were(I were anyway)a consumer that liked samsung only to find out that they will not support us. I do not believe that I will ever buy another samsung product if it does not work a year later due to the rush to make money.

my samsung blue-ray dvd bd-p1000 doesn’t play blue-ray disc. it’ll play regular dvd
is there anyway that i can try to get this blue-ray to play at all?
please give me some advise about this issue.
i’ve spend $800.00 on this blue-ray player

THe samsung Blu ray player is one of the worst devices I’ve ever purchased, I also paid over $900 over a year ago and I can’t get it to work with over 50% of blu ray disks. I’ll never buy anything samsung again. Support makes excuses and that made it worse

I have a Samsung BD-P1000 I paid over 900 bucks less then a year ago that doesnt work with all blue ray disk and now Samsung is selling a new and improved BD-P1400 for less than $300….Yeah, I bet I’ll buy another samsung again……Pathetic

Have the samsung BD-P1000 player I think I correctly downloaded te firwre update and installed. I re tryed to play the new Rise of the Silver Surfer still get the same message firmware update needed. What is the next step?

You mentioned on 10/17/06 that “the Genesis chip bug will be addressed in another update toward the end of the month” … yet it’s now 4 months later.

“Where’s the Beef … er, I mean, Where’s the Update, Samsung?!” I’ve held off and held off buying, waiting to know that one is available before parting with a big chunk of cash. 4 months seems *way* too long for what sounds like a simple patch.

Guess I’ll wait a while and buy a Sony or Pioneer, after the prices decline a bit. (Samsung, are you listening?)
