I think samsung should send all p-1000 owners a copy of the updates as they come out. We all paid good money for this player and should not have a disc player that was only good for a year or less. I guess that money does come before all else, we were(I were anyway)a consumer that liked samsung only to find out that they will not support us. I do not believe that I will ever buy another samsung product if it does not work a year later due to the rush to make money.

I enjoy the picture from blu-ray but not this hassle. "Where's the Beef ... er, I mean, Where's the Update, Samsung?!" I've held off and held off buying, waiting to know that one is available before parting with a big chunk of cash. 4 months seems *way* too long for what sounds like a simple patch.
Guess I'll wait a while and buy a Sony or Pioneer, after the prices decline a bit. (Samsung, are you listening?)

You mentioned on 10/17/06 that “the Genesis chip bug will be addressed in another update toward the end of the month” … yet it’s now 4 months later.

“Where’s the Beef … er, I mean, Where’s the Update, Samsung?!” I’ve held off and held off buying, waiting to know that one is available before parting with a big chunk of cash. 4 months seems *way* too long for what sounds like a simple patch.

Guess I’ll wait a while and buy a Sony or Pioneer, after the prices decline a bit.
