For better or worse Star Wars is Lucas’s “vision” now whether we agree or disagree with that vision is entirely up to us. Even though I find Lucas’s comments against colorization a bit hypocritical, Star Wars is his “vision” and if he sees fit to mutilate them, then I can appreciate that better than someone else (Ted Turner) defacing another directors work.
In a world of cropped, stretched and otherwise mutilated airings of films that have been altered by the likes of HBO, SHO and Cinemax, I find the airing of any film in its original aspect ratio much more important than what the directed did/didn’t to his own film.

Camperton, I didn’t forget, I just don’t find it all that relevant. If you're gonna talk about purists, don't forget to mention that.

Well as a film purist aspect ratio is well and good, but this means nothing to me since these will be the ridiculous, defaced “special edition” versions of IV-VI.

If you’re gonna talk about purists, don’t forget to mention that.

By: Camperton

<guid
