This could however easily replace current 2K theatrical projection systems.

JP, I don’t think this is something we’ll really ever see in a residential environment. I read somewhere (can't remember where) that it's hard for some to tell the difference even between 1080 vs 720. Is this true (or can you comment on it)?
Maybe there is, since I obviously see a big difference from regular old resolution vs current HD resolution, so why not from current HD vs the next gen resolution.

I’m wondering whether the average person is able to see a difference between 7680×4320 vs 1920×1080?

I read somewhere (can’t remember where) that it’s hard for some to tell the difference even between 1080 vs 720. I would be happy with true 480i for SD and 1080i via satellite for HD.
Like I said, we can always dream.

Well, we can always dream.

I would be happy with true 480i for SD and 1080i via satellite for HD.

Like I said, we can always dream.

By: westcott

<guid
