Hi Brandon, while I have to admit the LifeWare demo/house at CEDIA last year had almost as many things working as not working, that really wasn't my point here.

I was more interested in the fact that Russound is even offering a HTPC/media center more so that what software it was running. To me that stuff is inconsequential to the larger point.

But since you bring it up, I can’t speak for the LifeWare light switches, but if they’re anything like Radio RA, Vantage RF or Control-4 switches, they can still be turned on and off with the PC completely shut-off, the PC just extends existing functionality.

Same goes for most integrated alarm and HVAC systems (although not all), the ones we use have overrides and stand-alone functionality.

Lifeware is terrible we all know how much trouble we have out of pc's as it is the last thing i want is a pc running my house i mean Windows!! do you want your house to crash or to get the blue screen of death. Think about a Windows machine running your lights, hvac, & security. Then the non essentials music, tv, etc. Go Lifeware,, I mean go away.
