Things Are Tough All Over

I just caught this on Saturday Night Live (a few weeks late but better than never I guess) and nearly bust a gut laughing.

Announcer: Weekend update, with Amy Poehler & Seth Meyers.

Amy Poehler: I’m Amy Poehler. And here are tonight’s top stories:

“Panasonic, this week, unveiled a 150-inch flat-screen TV. Just in time for no one to afford it.”

So funny (and sad) and in our current economic environment Amy just verbalized what a lot of us have been thinking.  I dug around YouTube for a clip but no luck, the entire episode was a hoot and well worth checking out on it’s on.

    Well said. Companies must maintain their research and development departments to develop the latest technologies. This seperates companies as being leaders in their field. This is the exact kind of image comapnies like Panasonic want.

    Yea everything is slim right now. I have just tried to maintain a positive attitude about this whole economic crisis. Hang in there.
  • I think in this recession time, Panasonic is choosing the wrong time to launch a new product. They should consider to promote the current product collection

    The rumor of Samsung dropping their DLP line seems like bad timing on their part. DLP gives a lot of bang for the buck compared to Plasma and LCD. Wish I could afford a new set right now.

    I was actually in Best Buy on Black Friday looking at HD sets and there were fewer people in the store than the weekend before. And the people that were there weren't buying much, you could just walk right up to the register, no lines.
