Denon DVD-5910 to use HQV chipset

While little information can be confirmed about the Silicon Optix’s Relata HQV (Hollywood Quality Video) chipset, the 5910 may usher in a new level of quality in video reproduction. Originating from Denon’s website.
The Denon-5910 DVD player is expected to ship first quarter of 2005. Denon’s recently launched DVD-1910, DVD-2910 and DVD-3910 are available now.

It looks as if the Samsung DVD-HD941 might have been shelved before it ever reached production. The 941 used to appear under Samsung’s “Hi-Def Conversion DVD Players“, heading but now is tucked away under “Archived DVD”.

Denon DVD-1910, review

The Denon DVD-1910 offers some interesting features for a retail price tag of $269, such as a HDCP compliant DVI output, Faroudja FLI2301 DCDI deinterlacer, 3:2 pull down detection, HDCD playback, Burr-Brown DA’s, and last but not least, 480p, 720p and 1080i up scaling.
