It’s been a few weeks now since I picked up a Google Chromecast, at that time the apps Du jour were Netflix, YouTube, Hulu Plus, HBO Go, Pandora, Google Play Movies & TV, Google Play Music and tab cast (Chromecast’s method of streaming a browser window). While these features were nice all of them were replicated […]

If you’re in the market for a new universal remote I strongly recommend taking a look at the Harmony One, I think you’ll find its a tough package to beat.

I would like, if I may, to take you on a strange journey (sorry, couldn’t resist). Back before cell-phones were commonplace, even before the internet and way before things like Facebook and Twitter, teenagers had their own social network; but we just called it the midnight movies. The midnight movies were where we could meet […]

Audio/video receivers play an indispensable role in many home theaters, they act as the central hub; routing, decoding and processing audio/video signals and providing the amplification for the surround channels. Receivers have come a long way since the days of routing s-video and matrixed surround sound. Today’s AVR’s, handle 1080p video, process high bit-rate digital […]

Without a doubt Watchmen on Blu-ray has been one of my most anticipated titles of 2009. What’s so special about Watchmen you ask? Aside from some of the most engaging characters to ever grace a graphic novel, Alan Moore’s 12 part series takes place in an alternate universe where super-heroes helped the U.S. win the Vietnam War, while later the United States and the Soviet Union find themselves at the brink of nuclear war. It’s this scenario that fuels the majority of the films plot line.

Right off the bat Boxee has a different feel to it. The menu system is smooth and once you shed off the trappings of conventional media centers and adjust to Boxee’s way of doing things, it starts to feel intuitive. Boxee’s a lot to take in early on which is a bit surprising given how spartan the interface appears. Notice I said appears because once you dive in a little deeper you’ll quickly see there are a ton of settings and features to tweak should you wish.

Plot: Strip away all the really, really good looking people (copyright Zoolander) and at its core, Indecent Proposal is a story of love, trust and ultimately regret. Take one young, attractive couple, mix in some financial problems, add a dash of aging billionaire playboy looking for love and you get the gist of the film; an indecent proposal indeed.
